Need some independent activities for preschoolers? We’ve got quiet time activities for preschoolers and non-nappers that will keep your toddlers busy at home- and out of your hair, so you can get things done.
We hear it every day. “Be present.” “You’re gonna miss this.” “Babies don’t keep.”
Which is true, but clean dishes don’t “keep” either.
As much as we love our kids, sometimes we have things that need to get done. We need a few minutes that don’t involve going somewhere, or teaching the kids something, or engaging with them one on one.
What we need are a few independent activities for our toddlers. Fun little activities they can engage in while we go about with our chores or businesses.
Over the years, we’ve come up with a long list of independent activities for preschoolers to keep them learning, growing, and- most importantly- out of our hair. Read on for our toddlers’ favorite at home activities– some of them may just surprise you.
As soon as the holidays roll around – or my kids’ birthdays – everyone starts asking the same question: What can I get your son for a gift? Often, I answer “nothing.” Because the truth is, he doesn’t need anything. Which is hard for me too – because despite not wanting any more stuff around the house, I do want to find the perfect gift that is special and memorable for my kids. So for my art obsessed boy, Budsies was the perfect fit!
Check out this Budsies review to see if it would be the perfect gift for your child too!
Looking for cheap mother daughter date ideas? We’ve got mommy daughter date ideas for toddlers, big kids, and even teenagers in this list of mother daughter dates for every budget.
When Abram was first born, Lila was so very in love with her little brother. She didn’t feel that jealousy I’d heard so much about, and instead spent lots of time cuddling and caring for her baby brother.
But as he got older, she started to see him more as competition for attention. We decided to pour more one-on-one attention into Lila- and thus, our cheap mother daughter date journey started.
Every weekend, while Abram took a nap at home with daddy, Lila and I would go on a little adventure together. Sometimes our budget was larger and we could afford to do something extra special together, but most of the time we focused on cheap mother daughter dates.
Often, I found that it didn’t take a lot of money to satisfy her need for special time and attention. Many of our mother daughter dates are actually free community activities that we can participate in together.
No matter what your budget, we know you’ll find a few mother daughter date ideas that will give you and your daughter (or son!) a chance to spend some time together– and make lasting memories in the process.

Whether you’re suddenly working from home or it’s your long term plan, you’re going to need to find your groove to make it work. Here’s how we manage our work from home mom schedule (and a free printable to help you find your rhythm, too!)
When Christine and I first started our journey into the blogging world, we already had our stay at home mom schedule template down pat. But we never realized that this blog of ours would turn into a thriving, work from home job opportunity. We thought we’d get a creative outlet, sure, and maybe get a sponsored post or two. We didn’t realize that we’d soon be balancing a side hustle and family. .
And yet-by the grace of God- here we are.
Everyday we fight the good fight- we walk that line between being a working mom and a stay at home mom. We are expected to get all of our work done in a timely matter, but we are also expected to stick to a work from home mom schedule that keeps our houses running as if there was no job at all.
We take our kids to school (usually on time). We meal prep, we do laundry, we try to keep our homes clean. Finding balance sometimes means going with the flow, and sometimes it means keeping to a strict work from home mom schedule. There are days where we fall way behind in one area or another, but for the most part? We’ve found a way to make it work.
And you don’t have to work from home to need a proper schedule. Moms’ work comes in all shapes and sizes, and you may find yourself needing more structure to your days.
So if you find that your own side hustle is starting to leave that “side” part behind? If you’re struggling to keep up with the housework or fit in time for yourself? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Here is the ideal work from home mom schedule (along with a free printable schedule template!), from two moms who use it on the regular.
